yesterday was the lonnnnngest day. we started out in little italy, which is full of chinese people and restaurant supply stores. then we went to little china, where we bought some presents for people and also a purse for me. and, just for fun, we went back into one of the hidden purse stashes. it started to rain while we were there but it felt so nice because of the incredible heat (of course, later, it got very very humid). we found an all vegetarian chinese place and it was very very good. (after eating horrible cafeteria rice at whole foods, i was definitely ready for GOOD food). i even ate with chopsticks, possibly the wrong way but it worked. oh yeah, prior to that we went to urban outfitters and were then sad to learn that the vegcity diner was replaced by a hair salon.

the rest of the day was a ridiculously long walk through soho and greenwich to chelsea where we met rob's aunt and uncle for a the adirondack sailboat tour. it was the most relaxing and wonderful thing, after all the walking around noisy NY. one of the funnier parts was when one of the crew members popped a cork on a champagne bottle and the captain caught it in his mouth from the other end of the boat.

after the boat ride we went to this little restaurant in new jersey called Noni's the rob's aunt and uncle go to all the time and it was very very very good. i didn't think i had room in my stomach for more food but the eggplant rollatini was so so so good.

i don't really know what's going on today. i know we're going to try to get to the empire state building and also to see the march of the penguins. plus we have to buy a few more presents.

i really hope it's cooler today (it won't be)
